Microids is pleased to announce that Operation Wolf Returns: First Mission is now available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch is commercially available. Game fans who already own Operation Wolf Returns: First Mission VR for PSVR2 can access the non-VR version of the game for free. Likewise, those who purchase the game for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 can enjoy both virtual reality mode and traditional mode.
Players return to the world of the iconic arcade game Operation Wolf, which was developed and published by TAITO in 1987 and, as one of the first games with a horizontally scrolling rail shooter, influenced an entire generation of gamers. Developed by French studio Virtuallyz Gaming, Operation Wolf Returns: First Mission stays true to the spirit of the original game while taking a new artistic direction. Thanks to gameplay that focuses entirely on non-stop action, players will find themselves transported back to the world of the 80s.
In the campaign, players, alone or in local co-op mode, are placed in the roles of special agents fighting a new criminal organization. The organization, led by the mysterious General Viper, not only deals in drugs and weapons, but also appears to have developed a weapon of mass destruction. After discovering several of the group's bases, the agents are sent to the site to dismantle the organization, destroy the weapon and free the hostages from the surrounding prison camps.
Operation Wolf Returns: First Mission is available now for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch as a Rescue Edition, which includes game stickers and an embroidered patch.
