The makers of Bus Simulator are working on a new cozy sandbox game. The simulation game Garden Life was recently added to the Steam Wishlist for 30.000 times. I took a closer look at this floral game and am already looking forward to the release.
I've been fascinated by simulation games for as long as I can remember. I like to drive big trucks through the mud with Snowrunner and I like to go hunting with Call of the Wild. I experience things in the virtual world that I can't do in real life. Today's technology helps simulations provide ever better immersion.
When I was younger, I also spent days building a garden in a 3D planner from the 90s. Even though it wasn't a game, I was still fascinated by building a garden according to my own ideas. When Still Alive Games announced a new gardening simulation game, I was all ears.
Plant, decorate and relax
Imagine designing your garden in your head according to your ideas and then you realize how much work that actually is. Hauling stones, repotting flowers, digging and at the end of the day you're covered in dirt. All of this is eliminated with Garden Life and the game seduces you into a relaxing planting experience that has never been seen before.
It doesn't sound very sexy to many people on paper, but 30.000 Steam users have already put the game on their wishlist. What makes the game special?
Every flower is unique
Virtual gardens exist in many games. Stardew Valley, Hay Day, Farmville and many others take up the theme of gardening and are very successful with it. Garden Life goes into the 3D world and is closer to reality than the popular 2D games listed. Being realistic also means that not all flowers of the same species should be identical. Still Alive Games has developed its own technology for the plants so that no two plants look identical - just like in real life. You will find out exactly how this works in this reel.
In the hunting simulator theHunter – Call of the Wild, a system was also developed (only later) that makes each antler unique. However, the responsible TruRACS (short for True Random Antler Configuration System) sometimes produces very strange antlers (which are quite realistic) that you would rather not display in the lodge.
The lovely neighbors are also there
On Steam you can read the following: "Help your friendly neighbors by fulfilling their gardening requests and receive new plant varieties, tools and decorations as rewards." So there is such a thing as "quests" and I hope that the neighbors, not like in the real life, mowing lawns at ungodly hours.

Garden Life creates atmosphere
The trailer and the first screenshots give us a feeling of how the game will captivate us. The developers repeatedly emphasize that this cozy game creates a calming atmosphere and lets us switch off.
The developers reveal even more details on Instagram (@gardenlifegame). Among other things, animals such as fish and cats can be seen as well as additional game play.
Garden Life will be published in 2024
Garden Life is coming to PC (Steam), Xbox and PlayStation in 2024. The minimum requirements have not yet been published. Now onto that Steam Wishlist and don't miss the release.
