Fans are waiting for the announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2 – and that Nintendo will hold the next Direct show. However, this could take some time, as a rumor now says.
No more Nintendo Direct this year – this rumor was started by leaker PH Brazil. The Nintendo expert does not have a flawless record when it comes to his predictions, so his statements should be viewed with a certain amount of caution. One thing is clear: Nintendo will not be releasing information about the Nintendo Switch 2 will have to come around the corner sooner or later. Fans are currently in a transition phase between the two console generations – this is also indicated by the current sales figures of the console out.
Nintendo's game portfolio itself also indicates that it is entering the waiting phase: There are no longer any big titles for the Nintendo Switch, instead there are good games, but no real drawcards. The company will save these for the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2. Fans could and can at least look forward to entries in well-known game series, including The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi: Brothership.
Nintendo Switch 2: Wait, but what?
Fans have been speculating that a Nintendo Direct could start soon if Nintendo wants to release the new console in spring or early summer, according to rumors. However, the only official fact so far is that Nintendo wants to make the announcement of the Switch 2 public in the current fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2025. The expert throws a vague date into the room for the next show: February. When exactly? The leaker did not provide any information on this. And he rubs salt into the fans' wounds, because the stream will not be about the Nintendo Switch 2, but rather the predecessor.
