With the appearance of the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5th, Nintendo surprised fans quite a bit: The console successor will be released in just a few weeks. Pre-orders are now available.
Shortly after the one-hour presentation of the Nintendo Switch 2 and its first games, the console appeared on Amazon, but was not yet available for pre-order. That has since changed. The successor is officially available in stores in Germany and can be pre-ordered there for prices between €469,99 and €509,99.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is now listed at stores including Mediamarkt, Saturn, Coolblue, and Amazon. The online shopping giant has a special feature: You must sign up for an invitation link, which you will receive after account verification. This link will then remain valid for just under a day to complete your pre-order. Amazon cannot predict how long the wait will be in individual cases – depending on the number of pre-orderers, some patience may be required. Overall, it may be worthwhile for fans to visit stores and compare prices – in some cases, the purchase of the console is tied to the purchase of accessories.

Nintendo Switch 2: Pre-order still possible
Pre-orders have been open for a few hours now, and retailers are still accepting requests. The quantities are apparently generous—or are fans ultimately put off by the price? It's surprisingly high, even though the increased material costs, among other things, have already suggested a significant increase.
If you want to start playing right away, you can do so with the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle, which includes a console and a download code for Mario Kart World and will be available from the launch of Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5. Other publishers have already announced that their titles will be available on launch day, such as Hogwart's Legacy from WB Games.
The Nintendo Switch 2 comes with new features, such as a large 7,9-inch LCD screen that supports Full HD resolution in 1080p and is the same thickness as the screen of Nintendo Switch "Even on the go, Nintendo Switch 2 offers vivid, detailed gaming experiences and fluid graphics that reflect character movements and diverse facial expressions," writes Nintendo.
