Visitor mark exceeded, new attraction and steps towards sustainability implemented: The 2024 summary of Fort Fun Abenteuerland in the Sauerland is clearly positive. The balancing act between traditional offers and constant modernization seems to be the trigger for another record number of guests. A success story that the theme park team wants to continue in the coming 2025 season.
For over 50 years, Fort Fun Abenteuerland has stood for a mixture of leisure fun and the Sauerland nature. The amusement park, which is particularly aimed at families and offers attractions, shows and events for children and adults, belongs to the Looping Group, one of Europe's leading amusement park providers. So it's no wonder that Fort Fun is by no means dusty despite its age. Rather, the mixture of tradition and modernity attracts guests to the amusement park, as evidenced by the visitor numbers from 2024, which again clearly exceed the 300.000 guest mark.
Sustainability remains a major issue
A welcome surprise that the operators were not expecting. Looking back on the past year, they describe staff shortages, delivery bottlenecks, price increases and mixed weather conditions, which Fort Fun suffered from. In contrast, the park's strategy of updating tried and tested features is constantly bearing fruit.
In particular, the sustainability of the offer plays a role, which is being implemented in the adventure land. From the 2025 season, the vintage cars of the "Rocky Mountain Rally" attraction will no longer move through the Canadian mountain landscape as gasoline-powered vehicles, but with environmentally friendly electric motors.
Another new feature that visitors of the theme park, both young and old, will discover in the Yakari adventure world is the new Wild Swing "Great Eagle's Free Flight". A family attraction with a gondola swinging over the lake, which reaches its maximum swinging power at a height of twelve meters and offers the right amount of excitement for young and old without tipping over.
The employees are motivated to continue the success story for the park visitors. Fort Fun will open its doors for the new season on April 12th.
