With the end of the early bird phase, the organizers of Gamescom, Koelnmesse and game — the association of the German games industry, are looking forward to the end of August with anticipation. Because not only is the number of companies already registered higher than at the same time last year, but the large number of international exhibitors also means that a great Gamescom 2023 can already be expected.
Although the early bird phase in 2022 was two months later than this year, Gamescom 2023 is already recording a 10 percent increase in registered companies compared to the reporting date. These come from 39 countries, and numerous country pavilions have already been confirmed. Among others, there are: Australia, the Gamescom partner country Brazil, Belgium, China, France, Great Britain, Italy, Canada, Malta, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Serbia, Spain, South Korea and the USA.
Gamescom: 10 percent more registered companies
The early bird phase of devcom ended at the same time as Gamescom. Already two months earlier than the start of sales in 2022, the official Gamescom developer conference is happy about hundreds of registered participants and a full event agenda.
Oliver Frese, Managing Director and COO of Koelnmesse: “Last year, together with all partners and exhibitors, we made a really strong, hybrid comeback to Gamescom. The fact that this achievement has caught on in the industry and beyond is shown by the already strong interest during the early booking phase. Without going into details, I promise that the community can look forward to one or two big companies that were still on hold last year. At the same time, we already have well-known market leaders from the exhibitor segments newly announced for 2023 – such as streaming or table top games – on board. Die-hard Gamescom fans as well as interested parties from linked communities can look forward to Gamescom 2023 in equal measure.”
Felix Falk, Managing Director of game — Association of the German Games Industry: “As the games industry, we are already looking forward to our Gamescom together with the community. After two checkered years of the pandemic, Gamescom was even able to emerge stronger thanks to the great commitment on all sides. Now the very good result after the early bird phase also shows that uncertainties and limited ability to plan are no longer an obstacle. Together with exciting new ideas from exhibitors and partners, we are already looking forward to a great Gamescom 2023.”
The first exhibitors at Gamescom 2023 will be announced at a later date.
