Blizzard has completely revised the professions with World of Warcraft: Dragonflight, including alchemy. We have summarized what potion brewers need to know and how best to level up the profession in a guide to alchemy at WoW: Dragonflight.
With the new expansion, the developers are not only doing a few things with regard to the professions, but everything is new. The system is almost completely turned inside out - hardly surprising, after all, over the decades Blizzard has rarely worked on the crafting professions in World of Warcraft and tended to do more with the details. With Dragonflight, crafters are finally doing a lot more, much to the delight of those who enjoy crafting the most. A guide to alchemy at WoW: Dragonflight reveals what fans of potion brewing need to look out for.
Alchemy: What you need to know about WoW: Dragonflight
Crafting in World of Warcraft had long since become a necessary evil, and the antiquated system was no longer really fun. Gold could be earned, but it wasn't entertaining in a playful sense. With Dragonflight, Blizzard is now bringing plenty of new things: special professional equipment not only visually identifies players as crafters, it also provides space in the inventory, because you no longer have to carry around the items that are otherwise required.
Also new are crafting stations, which have long been known from other MMORPGs. In World of Warcraft, too, the "Crafting stations" with Dragonflight are now making their way into the game. There will also be a copy for each of the professions on the Dragon Islands - so it's no wonder that the pretty-looking stations are also mentioned in the guide to alchemy at WoW: Dragonflight. In Valdrakken, the capital of the new island world, fans will find the profession contact point in a special center for craftsmen - then of course together with the teachers and NPCs that you know. Practical: the auction house is also located there.
Getting alchemy to level 100 in WoW: Dragonflight doesn't require magic, but it does require some resources. You still have to collect them, nothing will change here in principle. Those who want to progress particularly quickly invest gold rather than time. However, stocking up on the required material in the auction house is traditionally relatively expensive at the start of a new expansion. Overall, Blizzard remains true to the basic idea of alchemy in WoW: Dragonflight. Since "Vanilla", players have been making potions and flasks in one of the most important professions, but the latter are now called vials. And they are also based on a completely renewed concept, but more on that in a moment.
Four things remain the same in the WoW Alchemy Guide: Dragonflight compared to previous Profession Guides of other expansions: Players continue to craft flasks, potions, and a personal alchemist stone as a trinket and transmute elements.
Alchemy at WoW: Dragonflight – from 1 to 100
Central to the guide to alchemy at WoW: Dragonflight is the following level tip: in the beginning it's easy. until Level 5 Players are best at making healing potions, which then require a Raging Frost, 20 High Flower and five Draconic Vials. After that it goes up Level 10 continue with mana potions, here you need one raging air, 20 high flowers and five draconian vials. In the time until Level 25 Alchemists need ten to twenty times "Omnium Draconis", that is yellow from level 20. In terms of resources you need one crooked bark, one saxifrage, one high flower and one bladder poppy.
After that it gets a little trickier. The developers have incorporated experiments as an essential part of everyday crafting. Players must now experiment to learn new recipes. If the research fails, there is a cooldown of 20 hours including a debuff that publicly identifies you as a Miraculix among the alchemists. Only with the learned recipes does it then go from level 25 to Level 60 further. With the cheapest of the new recipes you should get to level 40, then to level 55 and finally to level 60 through further experiments recipes. The recipes for vials are better, because they stay orange for longer and are guaranteed to give you a profession point.
The cost of a simple experiment is one Dragon's Alchemical Solution, one Omnium Draconis, one Artisan's Alacrity.
Alchemy Tip: You should always carry out experiments until they fail, even if you have already learned a useful recipe.
Alchemy: Flasks are now called Vials
The bottles were particularly popular with potion brewers, as they gave powerful buffs, which should not be missing, especially in raids. Being an alchemist or buying from an alchemist is therefore a requirement - this does not change with Dragonflight.
However, Blizzard has also completely changed this sub-system, which is why the vials must be explained separately in the guide to alchemy at WoW: Dragonflight. In addition to the name, the effects are also new. So far only the primary values of a class have been increased, now vials also have special effects. Blizzard has also readjusted the runtime. Instead of an hour, vials only last 30 minutes per drink. So it takes two to bring the duration back to the former default. That's pretty clever, because it requires more alchemical effort across the board. That should be good for the ingame economy.
They are also different Boiler. Those who choose the alchemy profession in WoW: Dragonflight can now create cauldrons of power as well as cauldrons of ultimate power. This is again particularly relevant in raids, but also in mythical instances. The new cauldrons hold potions of power for other players that increase the main stat for 30 seconds when used.
Raid members can use the cauldron a total of 100 times, with each use giving five potions. In total there are 500 potions in the pot, which can be easily distributed throughout the raid.
Alchemy: Specializations in Dragonflight
Also new and therefore central in the guide to alchemy in WoW: Dragonflight are the specializations that Blizzard is also introducing for potion fans. Alchemy of the Dragon Isles starts with level 25 specializations. There are three specific branches: Potions Mastery, Vial Mastery and Alchemical Theory.
After all: Blizzard does not restrict players too much, you can choose two of the three specializations.
Potions Mastery Of course, if players focus on potions, they can then craft the brews at a higher quality, as well as learn new recipes and improve the overall efficiency of crafting.
Within the Vial Championship is primarily about the new type of bottle. Again, the quality is higher and you learn new recipes and improve the overall efficiency of crafting.
The Alchemical Theory is the part of the magical school of alchemy. With this you can improve the transmutation of elements as well as the overall alchemy skill.
