Halo Series in Home Theater: Coming December on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD

Sci-Fi fans and gamers should rejoice: The spectacular first season of Halo, the series adaptation of the successful Xbox franchise, will be released on DVD, Blu-ray and 8K UHD Steelbook on December 4th and contains all nine episodes of the season plus over five hours of bonus material. This is announced by CBS and Paramount Pictures.

Based on the iconic Xbox franchise, Halo spans an epic universe filled with numerous unique characters, brought to life for the first time in a lavish drama series. Halo has sold more than 81 million units worldwide and has redefined how people think about video games. It has become a global phenomenon. Set in the universe born in 2001, the new TV series adaptation dramatizes the epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat, the Alliance. Halo weaves deep personal stories with action, adventure and a visually stunning vision of the future.

In the series, Pablo Schreiber plays Master Chief John-117, a Spartan II soldier. Natascha McElhone plays Dr. Halsey, the brilliant, contradictory, and inscrutable inventor of the Spartan Super Soldiers. As in video games, Jen Taylor is Cortana, the most advanced AI in human history and the potential key to human survival.

Halo: Season 1 with five hours of bonus content

Set in the same universe created with the launch of the first Halo video game in 2001, the series chronicles an epic conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Alliance. Only a cybernetically-enhanced super-soldier named "Master Chief" (Pablo Schreiber, "American Gods", "Orange is the New Black") can stop them from destroying all human worlds. As the true intentions of the Alliance are uncovered, the Master Chief must find a way to save humanity and confront the mysteries of his own mysterious past.

The action-packed first season offers a deep dive into the fantastical world of Halo with five hours of bonus material, with commentary from the cast and crew on the series' most important moments.
