Something is happening in Nuremberg long before the start of the Toy Fair, which is scheduled to take place from February 2nd to 6th, 2022. The organizing team is bringing the International Games Inventors' Fair from the Bavarian Games Archive to Nuremberg in order to increase the "attractiveness for the games community". The new format on the Friday of the trade fair, February 4th, is intended to give authors from all over the world the opportunity to present their prototypes to interested game editors and publishers in a compact form.
The game scene has been firmly represented at the toy fair for years. In order to perfectly respond to the needs of the international game community and to increase the attractiveness of everything related to author games, the world's leading trade fair in 2022 is offering a new format: It brings the successful “International Games Invention Fair” from Haar to Nuremberg. This was brought into being by Tom Werneck, the founder and chairman of the board of the Bavarian Games Archive. His colleague Christian Fürst-Brunner has also had a decisive influence on the event in recent years. With the addition of the “Game Inventors Convention”, it will in future take place on the Friday of the fair. Thanks to the close exchange between the two cooperation partners, the typical character of the event is retained, where game designers present their prototypes to experienced game editors in an exclusive atmosphere. Spielwarenmesse wants to strengthen the international aspect
"With the relocation of the 'International Games Invention Fair' to the Toy Fair, the international aspect in particular has been strengthened. It makes a significant contribution to opening up interesting ideas from international authors and inventors to access the market, ”says Christian Ulrich, spokesman for the board of the Spielwarenmesse eG, explaining the background to the takeover. France, Italy, Poland, Spain and the Czech Republic in particular have a productive author scene, but often hardly any marketing opportunities in their own country. During the Spielwarenmesse, however, all decision-makers are on site. In addition, game enthusiasts and game clubs meet for various events in Nuremberg's “ToyCity” at the same time.
The “International Game Inventors Convention” on February 4th at the Spielwarenmesse sets the course for the next product releases. In the separate Brussels room, game developers have the opportunity from 9 a.m. to 18 p.m. to present their prototypes at individual tables, compactly and inexpensively, to the target group that is perfectly tailored to them. Your appearance offers editors a structured and quick overview of the innovative game ideas in various genres. The employees of the publishing house also benefit from the short distances from their stands in the halls and from the low expenditure of time.
