Marvel's Midnight Suns is out in December - you can check out some gameplay right now. The card-based tactical RPG from Firaxis Games and 2K is out December 2nd for Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S and PS5, but before that, five prequel shorts detail the backstory of the core Midnight Suns team and the otherworldly evil in the form of Lilith.
2K and Marvel Entertainment announced today that Marvel's Midnight Suns will be released on December 2nd for Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 and is available for pre-order now. The release dates for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch-Versions of the game will be announced at a later date.
Marvel's Midnight Suns: Tactical Card Game RPG
The announcement was made as part of the Disney & Marvel GAMES SHOWCASE. It is accompanied by a new gameplay trailer showing what players can do in Marvel's Midnight Suns. As a new customizable Marvel character, Hunter, players will lead a powerful team of supernatural superheroes as they battle increasingly nasty unholy threats. They experience a tactical Marvel game that is second to none.
The Marvel's Midnight Suns Prequel Shorts were also announced at the Disney & Marvel GAMES SHOWCASE and live at D23 Expo 2022. The five short films show how Lilith became the mother of all demons and how it came about that superheroes like Blade, Magik, Ghost Rider and Nico Minoru formed the core team of the Midnight Suns.
"With Marvel's Midnight Suns we had the opportunity to delve deep into the dark side of Marvel and introduce some supernatural heroes that some Marvel fans may not be familiar with," said Jake Solomon, creative director at Firaxis Games. "The Prequel Shorts illuminate the events leading up to the game and bring the world of Marvel's Midnight Suns to life."
In the wake of the prequel shorts announcement, 2K and Marvel Entertainment revealed the opening intro and announced that the first video will be available on Marvel Entertainment's YouTube channel on Halloween on October 31st. Animated by the talented teams at Sun Creature Studio and DIGIC Pictures, the Marvel's Midnight Suns Prequel Shorts are scheduled to release weekly.
