Just before the GAME in Essen sind bei Pegasus Spiele two new children's games for ages five and up have been released. With Dori Dino, the Kids Fun series is expanding to include a turbulent game of skill. In Snack Happens, on the other hand, you need a little luck and accuracy to fill your own snack hiding place before the other players.
After the successful launch of the Pegasus Games Kids Fun series with Honey (Recommended Children's Game of the Year 2022), four more games have now been released. They all combine fun game concepts with clever, colorful game materials: Happy Hopping, Bubble Trouble, Catapult Feud and Turtle Mania. Dori Dino, the latest addition to the series, has recently been available at an RRP of €29,99. The fast-paced dinosaur game by Kirsten Hiese is played directly in the bottom of the box.
Dinosaur eggs and snacks
At the beginning of each round there are 24 colorful, glittering dinosaur eggs that the two to four players want to roll into the appropriate nests using a wooden stick. But except for the last round, one person takes on the role of Dori and tries to cause chaos by steering the eggs into the wrong nests. At the end of the game, whoever manages to roll as many eggs as possible into the right nests with a lot of skill wins this game for ages five and up.
In the second Pegasus Games children's novelty, Snack Happens, which is now available at an RRP of 24,99 euros, two to four players aged five and over take on the roles of hungry pets. As soon as the people leave, they take their chance and raid the fridge. But only whoever manages to fill their own snack hiding place with goodies first will win Michael Kallauch's game.
The game is also played in the bottom of the box: in each round, one person throws chips in and can take a tile depending on which symbols they hit. If this shows a food that the player is still missing, it can be puzzled into your own board. Each three non-usable tiles also give you a food item of your choice and the snack box has a surprise in store. After the active person has made their move, the others at the table take turns and can also choose a chip or the corresponding action according to the same principle.
Snack Happens not only impresses with its child-friendly theme and the fun, involving gameplay, but also with cute illustrations that make the dog, cat, mouse and parrot almost come to life at the game table.
