Excitement, entertainment and testing the latest games - that has always been the motto at the Ratinger Spieletage in recent years. It will be the same with the 13th edition this year: On Saturday, April 1st and Sunday, April 2nd, from 10 a.m. to 18 p.m., all game fans will get their money's worth in the Stadthalle. Admission is free.
On both days, families, occasional and frequent gamers of all ages can borrow numerous games from the VHS games club and try them out on site. In addition, game publishers will present their current games and game designers will show their prototypes. A total of 60 exhibitors are at the start.
Flea market and publishers
The Bring & Buy flea market is becoming increasingly popular, with over 2022 games available in 2000. This year, the proceeds from the flea market will go to the “Future Children Foundation” of the Evangelical Church in Ratingen.
The stage of the Ratinger Stadthalle becomes a "game arena" - games from the game rental shop can be played here, supervised by the VHS Spieletreff. And that in special game tables from the company Hüne Spielemöbel.
44 publishers and institutions and 22 game designers present their board games, card games, dice games and exit games and are available to all visitors, big and small, with advice, action and information. Your offer is interesting for the different target groups.
The Ratingen Games Days are organized by the Ratingen City Office for Children, Youth and Families in cooperation with "JuTu", the children and youth work of the Evangelical Church in Ratingen. However, they can only be carried out with the support of volunteers. The voluntary team consists on the one hand of “the angels in action”. These are young people and young adults who volunteer to help shape youth work in the Protestant parish. Also by players of the VHS-Spieletreff, who organize the game rental and the Bring & Buy flea market.
But the game days have even more to offer. The play mobile Felix is there, carpet curling is offered, there is a toddler corner and the Mayersche bookstore from Ratingen presents escape games on Saturday and family games on Sunday. In addition, the youth center LUX introduces the world of Yu-Gi-Oh on Saturday. The trading card game tournament, which takes place once a month, is then held as part of the game days in the town hall.
