The publisher Arcane Wonders wants to delight action fans with a board game based on the successful shooter series Call of Duty. The title has just been announced and should be regularly available in stores in 2024. A related one KickstarterThe creative minds want to launch the campaign this fall.
Arcane Wonders had previously brought board games like Onitama or Air, Land and Seas to the shelves, now the creative minds from Texas want to fish for the big fish and have chosen one of the most popular and successful video game series of all for their new project: Call of Duty.
Call of Duty: Hundreds of millions of sales
The Call of Duty series had already reached the sales mark of 400 million copies around two years ago. The brand earned an entry in the Guinness Book of Records as the "fastest-selling shooter series". The latest offshoot, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, was only released last year. Activision and Arcane Wonders are now following the board game adaptation trend and are releasing a board game based on Call of Duty. Simply called Call of Duty: The Board Game, it will put players in the roles of elite operators, ready to take on the gaming table using signature weapons and unique combat abilities from the template. You want to offer fans an exciting selection of iconic cards, a variety of intense game modes, but above all an intuitive action system as a playful basis.

Arcane Wonders is particularly excited about a long-term partnership with Activision Publishing, Genuine Entertainment and Evolution to produce Call of Duty: The Board Game.
According to the publisher, Call of Duty: The Board Game will combine elements of strategy, tactical planning and combat to create an "intense and immersive gaming experience". Your elite soldiers push game fans across the legendary cards of the Call of Duty video games - against each other - in the board game.
The board game will feature graphics and components inspired by the franchise, including miniatures of legendary soldiers and weapons from the Call of Duty series, according to initial information from Arcane Wonders. There are also a variety of scenarios and game modes, apparently also team fights.
"We are extremely excited to partner with Activision to bring the Call of Duty franchise to the table," said Bryan Pope, CEO of Arcane Wonders and one of the game's lead designers. "As longtime COD fans, we've worked hard to capture the scope, stakes and intensity of video games in a way that COD fans and board gamers new and old will love."
More information is expected to be released in the coming months. It probably won't last too long, because a crowdfunding campaign for Call of Duty: The Board Game is scheduled to start in autumn 2023. There they want to collect "pre-orders" before the board game is to appear in regular stores the following year.
